Mizoram Assembly okays fund allocation for ministers

Aizawl (mizonews.net): The demand of two ministers, R. Lalzirliana and JH Rothuama for 2012-2013, for their respective ministries were unanimously passed by the State Assembly yesterday.

The demand of R. Lalzirliana for Secretariat Administration, Home, including Prison, Fisheries and Rural Development amounts to Rs 665 crore, 40 lakh 43 thousand.

The demand of Revenue Minister, JH Rothuama for Land Revenue & Reforms, Excise & Narcotics, Soil & Water Conservation and Co-operation amounts to 114 crore, 58 lakh, 23 thousand rupees.

In the discussion 18 members participated and highlighted their views on the budget allocation for development programmes particularly in their respective constituency.

Many members appreciated the role played by the police for maintenance of law and order and creation of conducive condition for development activities. They also expressed grave concern over land grabbing by the rich without having slightest care for the fate of the poor and marginal people who need land for their livelihood
