Mizo gospel singer Pensy Boitlung in conversation with Mizonews.net reveals the other side of her life and her dreams. Pensy jumped into the Mizo music scene with her hit English album ‘I am a Pilgrim’ and since then she has produced several hit numbers like Fak zel che ka nuam. Find out more about our Lunglei lady who describes herself as “just an ordinary girl who loves Jesus more than anything else”.

What else would you be if you weren’t a famous Mizo singer?
I would have followed my grandmother’s footsteps and be a professional photographer.
What would be the first thing you would do if today was your last day?
If i were given a chance, i will take out my parents to a very special place and thank them for showing me the way to heaven in a very special way.
What’s your vision of a perfect society?
It’s possible by making God the central authority for every aspects of our lives.
What’s your definition of happiness?
Knowing that you have Jesus in your life and He’s not gonna’ leave you no matter what.
What were your dreams as a child?
As a child, i used to dream about being a great and successful Gospel singer.
If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and what would say to him or her?
I would love to meet Billy Graham and ask the same question i am being asked right now.
On the lighter side, if an Elephant was given to you, where would you keep it?
I will find a perfect place where it can fit perfectly and survive.
When was the longest time you have gone without a shower?
A week or so,
when we were in the hostel, back in the year 1996.
What is your favourite colour of socks to wear?
Defenitely white because white is my favourite colour.
If you were to be stranded on an island, what three items would you take with you?
A Bible, my diary with a pen and a guitar. That makes it four
If you were an animal, what would you be?
Like i’ve mentioned earlier, as white is my favourite colour i would be a polar bear.
