Bangalore (mizonews.net): “Government job is not a ticket to simply sit idle if one is sincere. There are so many things one needs to accomplished,” Karnataka Police chief Pu Lalrokhuma Pachuau said on Sunday.
The DG&IGP of Karnataka said this during an event to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the Bangalore Hmar Christian Fellowship (BHCF) at Divya Shanthi Church in Lingarajpuram.
Exhorting the youths to do their best in their studies, Pu Pachuau said: “One can turn dreams into reality if we work hard.” He, however, added that “getting a job does not end one’s task. Even in government’s job, one should do perform one’s duties efficiently and with with dedication.”
The soft-spoken police officer also said that youths must invest their time properly. “Even the devil wants youths who are healthy and strong to expand his kingdom… He has taken many idle youths along with him and as a result there is an increasing crime rate in Mizoram,” he said.
Pu Pachuau also lamented the fact that notorious crimes like raping of infants have become a dark reality in the predominantly Christian state of Mizoram. “It was once upon a time unthinkable,” he said.
In addition to speeches, several gospel numbers were presented by BHCF members who are mostly from the north eastern states of Manipur, Mizoram, Assam and Meghalaya.
“At least 200 people from the community attended and partake in the feast of love after the church service,” BHCF leaders said.
