MULCO produced 24,33,975 litres of milk during 2011-2012
Co-operative makes Rs.25.30 lakh profits
Aizawl (mizonews.net): Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union (MULCO) Ltd produced as much as 24,33,975 litres during 2011-12.
MULCO managing director Dr. Lalhmingthanga informed the 18th Annual General Assembly at Thuampui that there are now 39 affiliated functional society under the co-operative.
“As many as 24,33,975 litres of milk was produced from these society during 2011-2012. A business turnover during this period was Rs.965.58 lakhs and the Net Profit (Provisional) was Rs.25.30 lakh,” he said.
AH & Vety Minister Nihar Kanti Chakma also said that there was “good co-operation between MULCO and AH & Vety Department,” and that the government will take further steps to strengthen the co-operation.
The Net Profit (audited) in 2010 – 2011 was Rs. 16,49,707. 45 and the Business Turnover was Rs.1051 lakhs. Further, MULCO now consisted 9 Board of Directors, 5 out of these 9 was selected from the Chairman various Society (B class) and the rest 4 members are appointed by the Government of Mizoram.
“MULCO received one Road Milk Tanker 5000KL; one Milk Silo 5000KL; one Pouch filling machine; 100 Milk cans (40 litres) ; 1000 Milk Crates and 80 Insulated Boxes(25 litres) under BLUP Infrastructure Development to upgrade MULCO Dairy Plant,” official sources said.
