Aizawl (mizonews.net): In order to bring development in the field of Film industry and Fine Arts in Mizoram, the state government has planned to allocate Rs. 10 Lakhs each every year in the new budget.
The announcement was made by Chief minister Lalthanhawla to the mediapersons on Saturday last.
“As Mizoram is far behind the neighbouring and other states in film making, Rs. 10 lakhs has been allocated as ‘token provision’ under the supervision of Information & Public Relations department in order to bring development in Film industry,” Lal Thanhawla said.
“Even in fine arts development is slow, therefore, Rs. 10 lakhs has been allocated for development in this field too,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mizoram Film & Tevevision Producer Guild (MPG) has expressed its gratitude to the government for allocating fund for the development of Mizo film industry, which it said “had for long years suffered a huge setback”.
