Aizawl (mizonews.net): The Budget session of three autonomous district councils in South Mizoram will begin this week, said official sources.
Detail programme of the sessions have been drawn up by the Business Advisory Committee of the District Councils.
The Chakma Autonomous District Council budget session began yesterday in Chawngte while Mara and Lai autonomous councils’ session will begin on Friday.
The Chief Executive Member of Chakma Autonomous District Council, Kali Kumar Tongchongya said that Interim budget of the District Council for April to July was passed in March this year.
With finalization of the Council’s Annual Plan at 34 crore, 87 lac rupees the Plan allocation will be incorporated in the budget for the year.
Mara Autonomous District Council Budget Session beginning from Friday will conclude on August 7. Chief Executive Member, RT Zachono said, the additional allocation for the Annual Plan will be incorporated in the budget which was already passed in the budget session held in March this year.
It may be recalled that the Plan allocation of Mara Autonomous District Council for this year has been determined at 43 crore, 88 lac, 33 thousand rupees as against last year’s allocation of 18 crore, 13 lac rupees.
The duration of Lai Autonomous District Council budget session will also be the same as that of Mara Autonomous District Council.
The regular budget of the Council will be presented to the House on the opening day by the Chief Executive Member, Mr. C. Ngunlianchunga. It may be recalled that the Plan fund provided to LADC for the current financial year has been fixed at 54 crore, 58 lac, 52 thousand rupees as against 22 crore, 16 lac rupees received last year.
