Budget sessions of 3 district councils of Mizoram soon

Aizawl (mizonews.net): The budget sessions of three autonomous district councils in Mizoram will be held as per scheduled. The Chakma Autonomous District Council session will begin from July 30 while the Lai and Mara autonomous district councils  will meet from August 3.

“Since the state government has passed the Plan fund of Rs. 34.87 crore for the 2012-2013 fiscal, the council budget session can be held now,” Chakma Autonomous District Council Chief Executive Member Kali Kumar Tongchongya said.

For the current financial year, Lai Autonomous District Council Plan fund of Rs. 54.58 crore has also been finalised. As such proper estimate will be done during the session. The fund for Lai Autonomous District Council in the previous fiscal was Rs. 22.16 crore; it has been increased by Rs. 32.42 crore this year.

Mara Autonomous District Council in its budget session on March last had passed the regular budget for the Council for 2012-2013. However, since the state government has earmarked huge amount for Plan fund, the council has to pass the additional fund in Supplementary Demand, Executive Member, RT Zachonoi informed.

The total amount of the plan fund for 2012-2013 of Mara Autonomous District Council is Rs. 43.88 crore, which shows an increase of Rs. 25.75 crore from the Annual Plan fund Rs. 18 .13 crore of last year.
