Congress govt giving preference to OP Singh, say Mizo students

Dr. OP Singh asked to withdraw application for vacant post

Aizawl (mizonews.net): The Mizo Students Union (MSU) has accused the Congress government of giving preference to Dr. OP Singh for appointment to the two vacant posts of KVK Programme Coordinator at Kolasib and Saiha district.

MSU expressed their displeasure over the application of Dr. OP Singh and it has urged him to withdraw his application.

The MSU said that Dr. OP Singh had indulged in corrupt practices during his stint with the government and was even suspended. “Despite this, his service had been extended further; and after extension of his service twice, he is presently employed as ZOFISFED Managing Director,” MSU said.

The student body further said that during his service as Agriculture Director (R&E), Dr. OP Singh deliberately designed the Programme Coordinator Recruitment Policy which would allow him to apply another job even after pension. “That policy is being used by the government now, which we can’t agree with,” the MSU said.

“Such policy that enable “Director/Joint Director to apply another job after pension is but a subjugation of the many youths in the state who seek employment and is also a discrimination of other government employees,” MSU claimed.

MSU has asked Dr.OP Singh to withdraw his applicaition for the post of KVK Programme Coordinator, and told him that, even he don’t withdraw his application and is appointed for the post, the MSU further ask Dr.OP Singh not to accept it in showing respect to the Mizo people as well as the students. If any untoward incident occurred if he is selected and join the post, they won’t be responsible for it, MSU said.
