Ex-Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga name in ACB chargesheet

Aizawl (mizonews.net): Former chief minister Zoramthanga is one among those  who figured in the chargesheet prepared by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the current year.

The others are former Health Director Dr. N. Pallai, former Health Minister R. Tlanghmingthanga, PWD EE Lalsangliana and Supply Inspector K. Rohunga.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has submitted 10 inquiry reports to the vigilance department which will decide on whether the cases are criminal or departmental or worth investigating.

The case against Zoramthanga is for allegedly misusing government materials — goat proof wires for fencing of Aii Puk (Aii Cave). The ACB said it had relevant findings with in the case but no chargesheet has been filed with regards to dissaportionate assets case against the former chief minister.

Tlanghmingthanga, Pallai and Lalsangliana are accused of taking bribe to the tune of Rs. 20 lakhs from the contractor of Ayush building at the Aizawl Civil Hospital premises.

Rokunga’s case is accused of alleged lapse in supply of 5,709.23 quintal of rice for Grade A worth Rs 53,09,581.

“And regarding the alleged misuse of fund in I&II Project, Chawngte R D Block, under IWDP, Lawngtlai, there is no evidence to prove the claims and a final report has been and accepted by the court,” the ACB said in a statement.

Meanwhile, regarding the allegation made by Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee Media Cell leader on the alleged imbalance in the income and assets of MNF Vice-President Dr. R. Lalthangliana, a preliminary inquiry is being carried out by the ACB.
