Aizawl (mizonews.net): Champhai district has a higher rate of HIV/AIDS in Mizoram and stands Category ‘A’ as per HIV Sentinel Surveillance conducted last year, MSACS Project Director, Dr Eric Zomawia said while gracing the Workshop on HIV/AIDS organised yesterday by Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) and Champhai District AIDS Prevention Control Unit (DAPCU) at I&PR Conference Hall, Champhai.

Dr. Zomawia said that since Champhai district is in category ‘A’ regarding HIV/AIDS for which the government of Mizoram is also most concerned.

“Therefore, in order to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS the government is doing the best possible,” Dr. Zomawia said.

The work shop was attended by two workers at Drop-in Centre, Champhai, Office Bearers of the 6 branches of YMA of Champhai town, leaders of Sub-Headquarters YMA, and representatives from IDU and PNM, besides Church leaders.
