Aizawl (mizonews.net): While their counterparts in government schools get to have lunch under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, students of private schools across Mizoram go without it.

Explaining the reason, Minister for School Education Lalsawta said that that Mid-Day Meal Scheme was given to only government and government aided schools on the advice of the Central government.

“As such Mid-day meal is not given to private schools,” Lalsawta said.

In replied to the share question of PP Thawla and K Lianzuala, Lalsawta, Education Minister said there are 55 high schools with no headmasters in Mizoram.”There are 1298 high school teachers in Mizoram and 82 post of high school teachers are vacant and the move is on to fill up the vacant posts,” he said
