Aizawl (mizonews.net): The Eleventh session of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Mizoram was adjourned sine die by the Speaker yesterday.

As usual, the first one hour was devoted for questions and answers. This was followed by government business which was mainly used for discussion and passing of bills. Three bills were taken up. ‘The Mizoram (Establishment of Independent Local Body) Ombudsman (Amendment) Bill-2012’, from UD&PA, ‘The Mizoram Board of School Education (Amendment) Bill-2012 from School Education Department’ and ‘The Mizoram Value Added Tax (Amendment ) Bill-2012’ from Taxation Department.

All these bills were discussed and passed.

H.Liansailova laid on the Table of the House copies each of the following 1) Statement on Six monthly review of the Finance Minister on the Fiscal Position of the Government of Mizoram for the First Half of 2010-2011 (April, 2010-September, 2010) and 2) Statement on Six monthly review of the Finance Minister on the Fiscal Position of the Government of Mizoram for the Second Half of 2010-2011 (October, 2010-March, 2011).

Joseph Lalhlimpuia also presented to the House the second report of Subject Committee-I on Action taken by the Government on the recommendations of the First Report of Subject Committee-I on Mizoram House relating to General Administration Department.

Further, Liansailova made a statement on correction of asnswer to starred question No.181 asked by Dr.R.Lalthangliana regarding “Sorkar Liba chungchang” as follows-the liabilities of the government for loan and Works during the financial years given below are-i) 2008-09 : Rs.3259.82 crore; ii) 2009-10: Rs.3163.95 crore; iii) 2010-11: Rs.3697.24 crore and iv) 2011-12 : Rs.3994.48 crore. Further, the government repay the dept as follows-i) 2008-09: Rs.223.56 crore; ii) 2009-10:Rs.718.54 crore; iii) 2010-11: Rs.447.12 crore and iv) 2011-12: Rs.715.62 crore.
