Aizawl (mizonews.net): In an aim to “strengthen and to maintain transparency” with regard to the Mizoram government’s flagship programme NLUP, the I&PR department will provide information through two specially officers who will maintain the NLUP media cell besides all the IPROs in each district.
“From now on, such appointed IPROs and the 2 officers will participate in every works of NLUP at district levels,” a statement released by the I&PR said.
A meeting in connection was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of NLUP Implementing Board (NIB) Vice Chairman P.L.Thanga at NIB Conference Hall where I&PR Director and District IPRO officers were present.
Thanga explained to the District IPROs about the NLUP, the works achieved so far under the programme, and the various committees formed for the proper implementation of the projetct. “Iit is utmost important that people know everything clearly about the NLUP for its success; and giving transparent and detailed information on the works under NLUP is what the highest authority of the state government want,” he said.
Thanga further said that it was necessary for the IPROs to have complete information about the target of the project, on the sanction of fund and on the works of line department so that officials can give the same information to the people.
“It is necessary that the District IPROs attend all the meetings of district level committee and keep in touch with the District Commissioner and also with local mediapersons,” he said.
Addressing the meeting I&PR Director Jim K.Chozah also said that the I&PR department “is always ready to do its best and will play an active role for the success of NLUP.”
