Aizawl (mizonews.net): A new SMS service was launched up by Mizoram Transport Department yesterday at the Director Office here in the presence of Jt. Director (MV) R. Remmawia and Transport director Thlamuana.

Through this SMS service, vehicle owners can now enquire about the date for payment of road tax and also on the expiry date of their travel documents.

To avail the new service, one needs to register his or her mobile number at the DTO office.

From the registered mobile number, enquiry on Road Tax and Fitness may be made via SMS by typing VAHAN MZ FIT MZO1D1234/ VAHAN MZ TAX MZOID1234 and sending it to 9212357123.

Also, to enquire about driving license and motor registration one may visit http://vahan.nic.in.
