MZU results inquiry panel blames 3 officials for errors

Aizawl (mizonews.net): The Inquiry Committee to probe the errors in the Under Graduate result of the Mizoram University (MZU) this year has blamed three 0fficers of the Examination Department for the discrepancy in the results.

According to MZU sources, the Inquiry Committee submitted its report to the Vice Chancellor on July 25, after which on July 27, 2012, MZU officials reviewed the report in the presence of Vice Chancellor.

“The probe panel has suggested light penalty to the officials,” MZU official sources said.

The panel found that the officials did not supervise as expected of them during the preparation of the results and “did not use computer administrator, besides they were less concerned over the result”.

“The transfer of experienced staff was also one of the cause,” it said.

The panel also blamed the MZU Examination department for preparing the result “in haste”.”Ooverall, the Controller of Examinations, Examinations Asst. Registrar and Section Officer are all responsible,” it added.

The panel was headed by Prof. AK Agarwal (Chairman), HoD of Economics Department (MZU)and other members include Dr. Tawnenga, Pachhunga University College Principal and Prof. Lalhmasai Chuaungo, HoD of Education Department, MZU.
