Planning Commission director inspects NLUP

Aizawl (mizonews.net): Director of SPA (NE) Planning Commission H.P. Sharma visited Serchhip District on Saturday and inspected the various works initiated under NLUP in the district.

The officials of NLUP Line Departments in Serchhip accompanied Sharma during his visits. Sharma on his way to Serchhip also visited MIFCO Food Processing Plant near Chhingchhip where he advised the workers at the Plant to put their best efforts and told them that even if they do not get great amount of profit, but at least to try to work out for their income. Besides, the director advised the workers to make useful of their other materials and the Cold Storage at the Plant, by not only using them for storage of seasonal vegetables and fruits, but also to use it for storage of other products and even fishes etc.

After Chhingchhip, H.P Sharma visited Sericulture Depatment and inspected building under construction for purpose of keeping caterpillars, which he found satisfactory. He also expressed his hope that it would be of great help for the workers. The Director then went on to visit the NLUP Link Road connecting of Kikawn-Tuikum constructed under MGNREGS; the Link Road- 4 km. long- had been constructed as a cost of 10 Lakhs, and the road being constructed for the NLUP beneficiaries in order that they visit their Oil Palm and broom cultivation areas easily.

Mr. Sharma also visited the pig farm of Pu Zorammawia who selected pig rearing under NLUP at New Serchhip, and complimented the arrangement made by the government for the NLUP beneficiaries as thoughtful and appreciable. He also visited the several initiatives of Serchhip –IV Village Council under NLUP and the BNRGSK Hall constructed by the Village Council, and expressed his hope that the Hall must be useful for both the government and the people.

In Serchhip, Director of SPA (NE) Planning Commission H.P. Sharma also visited the Plant at District Veterinary Office land for the purpose of NLUP beneficiaries who have selected cow rearing trade and for the purpose of milk supply, which is under the administration of the Vety department. Mr. Sharma asked the operator of the machine at the Plant, from which he learnt that it would be of immense help for the people, especially for the farmers.

The Director also visited the beneficiary who selected Sewing as NLUP trade at Serchhip Bazar, who he asked details of how the latter got the assistance, how helpful it is, and future plan, after which the Director appreciated and wish success to the beneficiary. After that, the Director went on to visit Oil Palm Nursery at Zawlpui which is under Agriculture department and then visited the place of weaving under NLUP at Thenzawl. Director of SPA (NE) Planning Commission Mr.Sharma was accompanied by Zorammuana, Secretary, NLUP Implementing Board, David L. Thangliana, Chief Media Officer, NLUP and Isak Lalmuanpuia Chuaungo, Research Officer, State Planning Board during his inspection visits.
