Aizawl (mizonews.net): Muslims on Monday Ramzan in Mizoram culminated with Id prayers held in the morning, local media reports said.

There was no untoward incidents reported in the state even as Mizos in cities like Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad stayed indoors on the same day after threats that North East people would be attacked after Id.

In the main function held in Assam Rifles Parade Ground Aizawl over 5,000 devotees participated in the mass prayer.

The Head Immam of Aizawl Mosque, Maulana Shahin Ahmed Chaudhury led the prayer by reciting verses from Holy Quran.

The devotees also prayed for peace and harmony in the country and the world at large and development and prosperity for the people of Mizoram.

Mass prayers were also held in the Mosque at Zemabawk Pushpak Hqrs, Sairang, Kolasib, Lunglei, Saiha and Lawngtlai.
