Senior Mizoram Police officers get tips on crime tracking tech

Aizawl (mizonews.net): Senior Mizoram Police officers were given training on Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) yesterday at the Police Headquarters.

The programme was attended by Aizawl SP and other officers.

Tips on the use of CCTNS was delivered to the officers by CID (Crime) SP Joseph Lalchhuana, while instruction and explanation on the use of CCTNS software by CID (Crime) Additional SP Zosangliana. Besides, Alok Kumar Verma, DGP, who inaugurated the training, asked the officers to work hard for the success of the CCTNS project.

CCTNS was introduced by the central government in July 2009 and is used for investigation and for finding traces of criminals using information technology. The Centre directed all the state police to use the new system.

The training will be completed by August 2013 in Aizawl district and by November 2013 in Lunglei, Saiha, Serchhip, Champhai, Mamit, and Kolasib districts; while in Lawngtlai district it is scheduled to be completed by February 2014.
