We have now uprooted corruption, says Mizoram CM

Aizawl (mizonews.net): Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla said that the Congress government has “uprooted corruption” from the state while attending the 3rd General Body Meeting of Minor Irrigation Staff Welfare Association Mizoram (MISWAM) at Art & Culture Auditorium herein Berawtlang.

“We have now uprooted corruption, but it will take some more time to make it dry,” the Chief Minister said.

Stating that the workers in the Minor Irrigation department used to regard themselves as inferior to others, the Chief Minister “Even if you are the smallest department, if you work with dignity and faithfully, if you utilize the fund (of the department) for its exact purpose and faithfully, yours’ can be the greatest department.” Having huge fund allocation but not utilizing it properly is meaningless,he added.

“Our own place of work is where God keep us to serve Him, therefore, we should work with faithfulness, truthfulness with the fear of God.”

Corruption is not just bribery, but it also includes the very feeling to work less, he said.

Saying that the Minor Irrigation department was looked upon by all farmers and cultivators for supply of water, the Chief Minister asked the officials to work faithfully “as the success or failure of the farmers depends on you”.
