Guwahati: A Mumbai-bound Jetlite flight was grounded after the aircraft developed a major technical problem while trying to take off from here Wednesday, leading to a delay in the arrivals and departures of other flights too, an airport official said.

All passengers on board the flight are safe, said an official of the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, who did not want to be named.

“The runway got blocked due to stranded aircraft, affecting the scheduled arrival and departure of other flights, particularly in the morning,” said the official, adding that the runway had been cleared.
