New Delhi: A 48-year-old woman was arrested along with her two associates and a one-year-old child recovered from their possession here, police said Wednesday.
Sunita, a resident of Budh Vihar, and her associates Praveen Gupta and Sumit Giri were arrested after police launched a hunt for the kidnapped child of Laxmi Rathore.
“Sunita was the mastermind of the conspiracy, in which she took help of her neighbour Giri,” Deputy Commissioner of Police B.S. Jaiswal, said.
They kidnapped the child from a deserted place near a CNG filling station in Rohini, police said.
“On June 16, one of Sunita’s associates kidnapped the child from the CNG filling station and kept him in Sunita’s house,” said Jaiswal, adding that the child was set to be trafficked to an unknown location.
