New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has slapped a two-year ban on the country’s oldest soccer club, Mohun Bagan, after refusing to take the field for the second half of its clash against East Bengal on December 9, a tie reported to be spectator-sensitive leading to possible violence.
Mohun Bagan was trailing their archrivals 1-0 on December 9 in Kolkata when a stone hurled from the stands hit one of its players. The match resumed after around 15-minute interruption but Mohun Bagan did not return to the field.
