Reasons Behind Why Waves Or Tides Are Formed In Oceans And Major Factors For Tsunami

On the earth, ocean is a body of saline water that covers major part (almost 71%) on the surface. The five major oceans on the earth are pacific ocean, atlantic ocean, indian ocean, antarctic ocean, arctic ocean. The upper layer of ocean body, seems to be bluish color of water which contains several contributing agents and also include some dissolved organic matter and chlorophyll(which is also present in green leaves). The tidal waves are formed to the bank of the ocean.

Why waves/tides are formed in lakes, seas and oceans?

In ocean, we can observe infinite series of water transports from one place to another. The flow of winds on the surface of water causes waves. Ofcourse, we can observe this in our home too by blowing across a pan of water. The wind energy on the surface of water transforms some of its energy to water by friction. Here, the friction is done between the air molecules and water molecules. Larger wind waves produce longer tidal waves. Sometimes, earthquake under the water may cause tsunami

How Tsunami Occur
The term TSunami is originate from Japaneese Language, which means Sesmic Sea waves. The tsunami produces a series of rushing waves and also a series of withdrawals. The waves are very fast and height of about 20 inches. Tsunami can occur due to of many reasons.
1. Collision of Layers of the earth crust which results in an Earthquake. If it causes beneath the ocean surface, reult Tsunami
2.A large-scale of undersea Landslide
3.Volconic eruption
4. Impact of a large meteor( a piece of rock or metal that burns in the sky as it falls into the earth’s atmosphere).
Major Tsunami’s occur due to Earthquakes
