Google self driving car is the major project done by the Google that implements the technology mainly on electric cars. That car doesnt require any driver to drive. In May 2014, Google presented this new concept for their driver-less car that had neither a steering wheel nor pedals,and the functioning prototype in December of that year that they tested on roads of San Francisco Bay Area at the beginning of 2015.

Google plans to make these cars available to the public from 2020 on-wards. Because of this project google is expecting the death rate can be reduced dramatically.
They have sensors designed to detect objects in all directions, including pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles?or even fluttering plastic shopping bags and rogue birds. This helps the car to safely navigate the road without getting tired or distracted. It is designed very perfectly, but unfortunately it met with an accident for the first time.Three people who are inside the care were slightly injured and they will be back soon. These cars are quite good than terrible human beings.
Limitations:
As of August 28, 2014 the latest prototype has not been tested in heavy rain or snow due to safety concerns.Because the cars rely primarily on pre-programmed route data, they do not obey temporary traffic lights and, in some situations, revert to a slower “extra cautious” mode in complex unmapped intersections. The vehicle has difficulty identifying when objects, such as trash and light debris. Humans such as a police officer, are signaling the car to stop. Google projects having these issues fixed by 2020.
