Rahul Dravid to coach Under-19 Cricket team:
He further added, “No, by no means. I am just taking a gander at India A and Under-19 appointment (as coach). I am not contemplating that (national coach’s post),” Dravid told columnists. “Ravi [Shastri] and his group are making an awesome showing with the results. I have no goals to go up to that level right now.”
Dravid himself was said to be taking a look at a vocation that would include him working with young people, and he underlined the same while talking as a welcomed guest at the convocation of the International Institute of Sports Management alongside Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.
“It’s a critical stage for any player – being a part of India A, U-19 squads. I am extremely cheerful I have been given that employment. There will be 2 to 3 series and I will impart my experience as a player to them,” Dravid included. “I don’t think you have to show India A players how to play or bat. They are at the grounds as that they are effective.
It’s about helping them achieve the following level. At the under-23 level, fundamental honing is redundant. At that level, you are taking a gander at somebody who can be a directing variable, somebody who can help you by making a decent domain and share some of his encounters,” he clarified.
Dravid included that his part as coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) side Rajasthan Royals throughout the last couple of years would stand him in great stead in his new task. “Undoubtedly, having spent two or three years as a guide and having spent numerous years as a player, I have possessed the capacity to see things from the administration and guiding side. The more you do it, the better you get to be. I am anticipating it,” said Dravid.
Dravid likewise made it clear that he would not be getting included in the selection process, saying he will leave that to the selectors and the group administration to choose. “See, as far as criteria, it’s up to the selectors and the team administration to choose. They will have a better vision than me in that particular field. At times, they pick youthful players, at times pick players who need to make a rebound into the India team and some of the time pick players relying upon future (India) tournaments.
There are different parameters which I’m new to. You can’t choose that just these sorts of players can be picked. It won’t be reasonable. The selectors have seen a ton of household cricket. I see my employment as training the players who are chosen”
